　　If we talk about "attachment" to bombs, it can be traced back to 1984. That year, Zhang Baoguo was admitted to the ammunition major of the Ordnance Engineering College of China People’s Liberation Army, and started his military career for 15 years.

　　In 1999, Jinan Public Security Bureau introduced him as a professional and technical personnel for explosive ordnance disposal. When he just transferred to other jobs, he was the only professional explosive ordnance disposal worker in the bureau, and there was no professional explosive disposal tool. Every time he performed a task, he had to rely on his own experience to pass by with death. Zhang Baoguo said that to do this profession, not only must you have skills and ability, but more importantly, you must have firm beliefs and a loyal heart. Only by being loyal to the party and putting the belief of being responsible to the people above personal safety can we have the courage to face the explosives one by one, and we can have no distractions at the moment when we start to detonate.

　　On March 2, 2015, when Zhang Baoguo took the explosive ordnance disposal team to the mountains for destruction, the old smoke cans suddenly leaked and caught fire. "Run!" But before he could run away, the powder pile burst into a 10-meter-high fire and surrounded him … …

　　This accident caused Zhang Baoguo to burn 8% of his whole body, second-degree burns on his face and deep second-degree burns on his hands, leaving him with seven-degree disability. After the first two months of treatment, his hands were still barely bent and covered with thick bandages. In order to be able to stand on the scene of explosive disposal again, he gave up conservative recovery and chose rehabilitation treatment. In the following more than a year, he underwent skin grafting and corrective surgery many times, and suffered the pain that ordinary people could not bear, just for the cause in his heart.

　　Even during the treatment, Zhang Baoguo did not give up his job. In May, 2005, just after the first treatment, he heard that something suspicious exploded in a hospital in the city and immediately rushed to the scene. At that time, his face had just grown new skin, and when he was exposed to the sun, he would be allergic and red, and the wounds on his hands had just healed. However, he knows that it is very difficult for only three players to handle a scene. It is good for him to give guidance on the scene and remind him at a critical time, and it can also provide a protection for his comrades. So he worked with everyone to alert the scene, study the scheme, guide the operation of the explosive robot and other equipment, and finally successfully completed the task.

　　However, with the development of the times, bombs have also become diversified. In Zhang Baoguo’s 19 years of work, he has been exposed to many crude and random home-made bombs, as well as sophisticated and meticulous new devices.

　　In order to keep up with the change of technology, although he was born in a regular class, he never stopped studying. He learned theory from books, technology from peers and experience from practice. He read many books on machinery, electronics, psychology and explosive removal, studied the initiation principle and assembly and disassembly technology of new explosive devices, and became a well-known expert in explosive removal in China. He was rated as a "top-notch public security talent in Qilu" by the Provincial Public Security Department, and he was one of the 14 expert members of the China Explosion-proof Security Committee.

　　In the past 19 years, Zhang Baoguo has always been seen in international forums and conferences, large and small in China. He ran around every corner of the meeting site and implemented safety in every tiny detail.

　　At this year’s Qingdao Summit of the SCO, as the deputy head of the explosion-proof security inspection team of the venue, he stayed up all night, stayed loyal and kept the last line of defense foolproof. He adhered to the professional working mechanism of "big security inspection and big explosion removal", and led a team to complete more than 70 explosion-proof security inspection tasks at venues, and seized more than 6,000 contraband items, ensuring the absolute safety of 39 venues, nearly 5 million square meters of mission area and more than 20 temporary service sites.
